The Reason

Nah, sekarang sesuai dengan apa yang gw tulis kemaren, gw akan kasih tau kenapa gw memutuskan untuk membuat blog. Memang alasannya sebenernya sudah cukup lama ada di diri gw sendiri. Hanya saja, gw baru penasaran dan baru menyadarinya sekarang.

Nah, apakah alasan itu? Ada yang bisa nebak gak? hehe.. Well, the reason is my own name guys. My name is Aaron Gemilang El Yazar. And I believe every name has a meaning, and there, lies a hope of our fathers and mothers.

Recently I asked my mom about who gave me that name. She said “of course both of us silly!”. She also mentioned that the name came out while one of them reading some books that contain names for a newborn baby. But unfortunately she cannot remember the meaning of my name. Well, one thing’s for sure, even though I am a Muslim, the name Aaron did not came from the Qur’an. It came from the Bible or even my mom once said it’s a jewish name. And the name Aaron in the Qur’an is Harun.

Nah sekarang gw berpikir, koq nama ini yang dikasih? Sayangnya nyokap gw gak inget persis latar belakangnya soalnya udah 18 tahun yang lalu siih hehe… Pas mo nanya bokap gw, eh beliau lagi ke India. Tapi yang nyokap gw inget dulu gw mo dikasih nama “Tias Wicaksono” ama Kakek gw! Nah pada saat itu bokap ama nyokap gw gak setuju en akhirnya memutuskan mencari di buku-buku untuk nama yang lebih bagus! Hahaha… gw ketawa aja tuh… emang sih gw setelah dikasih tau begitu gw lebih prefer nama gw yang sekarang hehe…

Now let’s find out why. I mean, what’s in my name that makes me feel I should write a blog. Well, the key is in my last name, El Yazar. But first let’s take a look at the first two names. We all know Aaron is not a Muslim name it is a name from the bible. but still, both have same meaning with Harun. And according some sources the name Aaron means a teacher; lofty; mountain of strength; exalted; strong.

Then i thought why do my parents chose Aaron instead of Harun? Then i thought again, perhaps this could mean “sometimes, controversies bring succes”. Most of the great men like for example the first President of Indonesia, Soekarno ,is a controversial man in some ways. So does the second President of Indonesia, who’ve recently died( Innalilahi wa Inna Ilaihi Rojiun). These two people are indeed controversial but still, there is no doubt that they are both great men.

And another example, is the Prophet Muhammad S.A.W. According to some sources, Rasullullah S.A.W is the first person with the name Muhammad in this world (well, duh! of course!). And at that time the name is unlikely to be used by the people of Quraisy. It’s like a breakthrough, an invention or whatever you call it. I read in some books about the prophet, when asked about the reason why he was given this name, his grandfather said “I hope that this would bring a new and fresh things for the people of Quraisy” (correct me if I’m wrong okay? hehe ^_^’). And there are many other example that you could find.

Nah sekarang kalo nama kedua, Gemilang sih lebih simple hehe.. Jelas setiap orang tua menginginkan anaknya sukses kan? Nah makannya orang tua gw menaruh kata gemilang di nama gw. Mungkin supaya prestasi gw Gemilang hehe… (amiin ya Allah). Yosh! Ganbarimasu!!

And now the last one, El Yazar. Nah tentunya pada penasaran kan apa artinya? Pertama” gw coba cari di kamus bahasa spanyol, karena imbuhan “El” identik dengan Spanyol menurut gw. Tapi setelah gw cari susah payah, gag ketemu juga. Nah pas lagi desperate gitu gw ketik aja nama Yazar di google. Eh, yang muncul artikel-artikel bahasa turki! Nah langsung deh, gw cari artinya di kamus Turkish-English. Dan apa yang gw temukan? Yazar: writer, author! gw kasih nih URL nya kalo penasaran hehe: http://www.turkishdictionary.net/ silakan cari sendiri d situ. Ada juga arti lain yang gw temukan yazar : author; composer; contemporary; novelist; pen; writer; contributor; man of letters; penman;. And ini URL nye: http://langtolang.com/ Nah habis itu, langsung dah gw berpikir, maybe I should make a blog.

Well, that’s my reason everyone! I hope you could understand that! ^_^ And because I said that within every name lies the hope of our parents, that means you are the hope of your parents! So whatever you do, do not disappoint them!
